Dothraki.org is a site dedicated to learning the Dothraki language. We plan to have every bit of information about Dothraki displayed here. We are volunteer run, and not officially associated with the Language Creation Society. If you know of anything that can be done to improve the site, let us know! We’re an open community, and we’ll need all the members we can get. Why don’t you join?

“We are currently the only Dothraki website, and hope to remain that way.”

Really? So right off the bat you’re discouraging others to join you in your appreciate for the Dothraki language? Unless I’m reading that wrong, that is kind of a db comment.

Oh, and your background image is of someone who barely speaks the language. : )

Other than that, it’s a nice start to your site.

    • Lajaki says:

Hey Mike. Hmm, no, I think you misread it. We’re the only site currently dealing with the Dothraki language. We want everyone to join us here in one, unified place, instead of in a thousand small Dothraki-related sites. We’re encouraging others to join us! I’ll edit that to make it more clear, thanks a lot for the feedback.

Yeah, we’re waiting for a good pic of Drogo or some blood-riders. Don’t worry – we’ll be changing the site up as the series unveils. :)

      Welcome.

    • Cacovsky says:

Yes, I understood it the way Lajaki intended. Since we are not that many, I think it’s important for us to stay together.

I understood it also. It is definitely smart to stick together when we are so few! On a side note, I very much like the image of Daenerys. She overcomes being quite a pushover to becoming a strong woman who embraces and loves the Dothraki.

  3. Gaby Navarro says:

Hi! My name is Gaby, I’m from Mexico, just started watching the serie and I completely loved it, I can wait to read the books, I trust they sell them here soon!

  6. Joslyn says:

David Peterson is going to be presenting in person at Wyrd Con this year and the focus will be on his process of creating languages. I wanted to make sure you guys knew about it just in case you wanted to attend!

Run by: David J. Peterson (Creator of the Dothraki language for HBO’s Game of Thrones)

“Ever experienced an incredible work of fantasy or science fiction that takes one to strange worlds or entirely new universes, only to discover that, as if by magic, all the native inhabitants speak English? Ever wanted to do something about it?

In this workshop, participants will work together in groups to create several brand new languages from the ground up. Explicit instruction will cover phonology (the sound system of a language), morphology (verb conjugation, noun inflection, derivation), syntax (the order of elements in sentences and phrases), and semantics (meaning). By the end of this workshop, participants will know how to:

    -Create a sound system.
    -Coin new words and names.
    -Create inflectional systems.
    -Create a new writing system.
    -Learn about language evolution.
    -Facilitate language learning.

No prior linguistic knowledge is necessary. This workshop will be led by David J. Peterson, the creator of the Dothraki language for HBO’s Game of Thrones.”
